HOW DO I SECURE MY SESSION DATE?
Fill out my contact form to let me know that you are interested in booking. Once we decide on a date, I'll send you a Contract and questionnaire with an invoice to pay your retainer fee. Sessions are secured by signed contract and receipt of the retainer. Typically I try to avoid sending out contracts for multiple clients wanting the same date, but it can happen so its important to sign and pay as soon as you know you want the date.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I BOOK MY SESSION?
After you book your session, I will reach out to start planning. You should have received a questionaire with your contract that helps me understand more about what you envision for your shoot. I will reach out to coordinate location, wardrobe choices, any permits required for locations, and any specifics for the people I'm photographing. Once we get the details out of the way, I start preparing for our shoot and stay in contact as needed. You'll get a confirmation roughly a week before your shoot as a reminder to not leave me hanging, and then its go time! After your shoot ends, I will try to post sneak peeks for you within 1 week. Then I deliver the gallery per you contract timeline. After you receive your gallery we'll exchange excited messages about how much you love your photos, you'll send me a friend request (because now we're besties), and then we'll do it all again at your next exciting life event!
WE AREN’T MODELS, WHAT DO WE DO WITH OUR HANDS?
Relax, this is what I do! If I had a dollar for every client who showed up and said "We're awkward and we dont know what to do"..... I'd be really rich. I will give you really simple poses to break the ice. Once the nerves start to wear off, I'll give you some prompts and fun ideas for things to do with one another. The prompts are designed to get you moving and interacting with one another and allows me to capture you and your loved ones exactly how you would be if I wasn't sticking a camera in your face. The best advice I can give you is to trust your photographer! If I suggest that you do something that sounds strange and dorky, do it anyways! Dorky fun poses are almost ALWAYS the ones that result in genuine laughter and the BEST memories.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
Dont Stress! Once you book your session, I will be in contact with you to help you along the way. I will share plenty of suggestions and resources for how to coordinate family outfits, what to avoid, and what will go best with the location we are shooting in. DO NOT feel like you have to go buy an entire new wardrobe for your family! We can work with what you've got and make it look cohesive.
WHEN WILL WE GET OUR PHOTOS BACK
That depends on the type of session you book, an estimated turnaround time will be listed in your contract. Typically for Couples and Families 2-3 weeks. Weddings 4-6 weeks. This can vary depending on how busy my books are, but I'll be sure to be in touch. I absolutely love the editing process and if I had all the time in the world, I would get them back to you immediately. I know its so hard to wait, but I promise I wont withhold your photos. If I've finished your gallery, you'll be the first to know!
CAN YOU USE PHOTOSHOP TO MAKE ME LOOK 30LBS LIGHTER?
Technically yes, but I wont. What I can do is hype you up like you've never been hyped before. I too have struggled with hating areas of my body and I've learned over time that embracing who you are, will let your true beauty shine through! If I know areas that you are insecure about I can be mindful during posing to help flatter you as much as possible. Photography is all about angles, and this is one of the best reasons to hire a professional. I edit my galleries to capture your memories, we want to capture a moment in time and that includes your body.
CAN I GET THE RAW FILES TO EDIT MYSELF?
While I do love a good DIY project, it's gonna be a hard no for me. Your final images are a reflection of the blood, sweat and tears that I pour into each gallery (mild exaggeration for emphasis). I work hard to deliver a consistent style in my photos and I'm proud of the work that I do. I highly encourage clients to research their photographers portfolios and make sure that the final product matches what you envision for your photos. If you want something that I don’t offer, I will happily help you find someone who does.
DO YOU OFFER PRINTS?
I'm so glad you asked. Yes I do offer prints, at an additional cost. You will have the option to select print options directly from your online gallery. If you choose to order prints, you'll be able to make a payment straight from your gallery and the lab will ship your prints straight to you. If you choose not to order from me, you will get a lifetime print release that will allow you printing rights where ever you choose to go. Please avoid printing from Walgreens or Walmart as they cannot deliver the quality and color consistency that your beautiful photos deserve!
